Functional Indicators


Performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Does not perfectly correlate with aesthetic properties.
More accurate indicator of overall health and well-being.




Training Methods

Instances of inefficient training:
A soccer player training with only machine weights.
An individual wanting to lose fat but using just "cardio" machines.
Doing stability ball exercises for the main purpose of fat loss.

Macro structure - establish objectives and goals:
Weight loss or fat loss?
Stamina or strength conditioning?
Flexibility and posture?
Sport-specific movements?

Micro structure - organize and allocate accordingly:
Aerobic and anaerobic training thresholds.
Frequency, duration, volume, and intensity.
